Hey, I'm Pascal

Software Architect

Thinks architecture big, starts pragmatic, and learns new things via YouTube if needed — as long as a good idea becomes something that actually helps people.

[System Prompt]: Maximize architectural integrity. Ensure rapid MVP delivery. Bridge visionary strategy with high-performance execution.

At a glance

  • Role: Senior Software Engineer & tech generalist
  • Focus: Scalable frontend architectures, monorepo management & agentic AI pipelines

The person behind the code

From gamer to engineer

My love for IT started in gaming: hosting private servers, writing Minecraft plugins, custom Garry's Mod scripts. The real lesson was pace — IT changes faster than you can document it. That's why AI isn't hype to me; it's the next logical tool.

If there's a video for it, I can learn it

My motto: if there's a YouTube video, I can learn it. That applies beyond code — when I renovated my house I had almost no craft experience. I bring the same learning attitude to technology: break it down, try it, master it.

Where I work best

I'm most productive with operational agency. Add a strong MVP mindset: the big vision is the target state; we still ship this week.

Side venture shipping our own software ideas — using AI across code, graphics, and music.

    • TypeScript
    • AI tooling
    • Product design

Building a small studio to ship products end-to-end instead of only contributing inside larger orgs.

    Focus right now

    • Learning app for kids — playful learning as the product thesis

    myBASFNavigator

Senior Software Engineer · BASF Digital Solutions GmbH (myBASFWorld)

Multi-agent chatbot for orders, shipments and product data — embedded as an Angular microfrontend across multiple host apps.

    • Angular
    • Microfrontend
    • Azure AI Foundry
    • MCP
    • Streams API
    • TypeScript

Customer-facing AI assistant for viewing orders and shipments and querying product information and documents. Focus: microfrontend UI and infrastructure; because the agents mainly consume commerce-world data, also involved in architecture discussions.

    Approach

    • Angular microfrontend hosted in several applications, talking over a Streams API
    • Reverse proxy for auth and CORS where direct backend calls were blocked
    • Multi-agent setup in Azure AI Foundry — orchestrator routes to specialist agents
    • Tooling migrating from classic commerce APIs toward MCP

    Takeaways

Treat agent and existing product UI as one system — conversation for specific questions, navigation for overviews. Don’t ship an agent just to have an agent; trust is hard to win back.

Confidential details (guardrails, prompts, internals) are intentionally omitted.

    Late 2022 – present

    current

    myBASFWorld

Senior Software Engineer · BASF Digital Solutions GmbH (E-Commerce & Web Experience)

Architecture and delivery for global B2B e-commerce platforms — feature flagging, monorepo/multirepo migration, and platform enablement.

    • Angular
    • TypeScript
    • Microfrontend
    • CI/CD
    • Feature flags

Senior engineering on the myBASFWorld commerce landscape: keeping global webshops healthy while modernizing how teams ship.

    Scope

    • Scaling and maintaining global webshops, including feature flagging
    • Helping migrate toward a multirepo setup for cost efficiency
    • Platform patterns that later enabled embedding AI assistants (see myBASFNavigator)

    CV angle

Long-running ownership of enterprise storefront architecture — reliability, cost, and delivery cadence across multiple host applications.

Local RAG over house documents on a NAS — query building files, contracts and amortization plans via LLM, without the cloud.

    • Ollama
    • Mistral
    • LangChain
    • Python
    • ChromaDB
    • Docling

After buying a house, a NAS folder filled with oddly named PDFs. Built a fully local RAG stack to make that corpus queryable.

    Approach

Two stages: preprocessing (OCR, layout, master data) and RAG (section-aware chunking, metadata-filtered retrieval, document-bound prompts). Stack: Ollama, Mistral, LangChain, Docling, OCR, ChromaDB.

    Results

Semantic queries over building/property data worked early; structured chunking made loan conditions findable. Pain points were scanned-contract OCR and naive chunking burying key numbers.

    Learning

Metadata beats pure similarity search. In RAG, the data pipeline is the real product.

How I work.

  • Who do you work best with?

People who live an open feedback culture, name problems directly, and actively help solve them.

  • In which working style do you have the most impact?

With operational decision power, clear freedom to shape solutions, and a focus on MVPs — tackling tech debt at the root.

  • Which roles complement you?

Structured strategists who keep roadmap and deadlines in view, and scouts who bring new trends into the team. I pressure-test ideas for feasibility and turn them into architectures.

  • Why is that?

Pure administration without room to shape things slows me down. Vision plus guardrails plus MVP thinking ships innovation with less friction.

Let's talk.

Open to interesting roles, architecture challenges, and side projects.
